    There's your problem.  

    I don't trust any poll from Rasmussen that hasn't been verified by a better pollster (or two).

        Rasmussen at election time is straight up on party preference.  As in, "which candidate do you prefer, the Democrat or the Republican."

        But get them on any single issue question and they turn into Republican mouthpiece central.  Given the way their presidential approval scores have diverged from everyone else, I wouldn't be surprised if they're asking something like "Do you approve of that elitist law prof in the White House, or do you think we need someone who doesn't "um" and "er" without a teleprompter?", in which answers such as "teleprompters . . .uh, could you repeat the question?" are coded as "Disapproval."
