I don't see AP's point, as Kos pointed out, these are links, not whole posted articles. Links take the user to the original site that posted the material. That site has an agreement (or should have an agreement) with AP, or any other entity that produces copy.

You can't copyright a link. Or if you did, you may as well imprison everyone.

It's like, say, I'm Decrepit Wall Street Analyst Meedbox Stumblebum, and I'm walking down the street explaining the Efusion on Gyrophysics to my intellectual partner, Dennis "the Menace" P'Antsolorio. "Pants," I call him, "let me grab your arm and wheel you over to this newsstand. You don't understand what I've told you, but I'm going to pick up this newspaper, (thanks, guy) and I'm going to show you this news article that illustrates my point very well. Consider yourself informed." And we both walk away, hoping for hot dogs and candy bars. Happens all the time. I didn't even buy a newspaper, I merely flipped through the contents and put it back on the rack. (Of course, there's always some nerd who wants to make me pay for newspaper flipping, but that's their problem.)
