    It's an area where there is a relatively high concentration of plastic. That means that every few meters of water, there might be a bottlecap or something.

    It is a very serious problem. But exaggerating what it looks like doesn't help anyone.

    By the way, that opening photo in the diary? It's from a polluted waterway in Manila, Philippines. Not the Pacific Ocean. I don't like that kind of trickery, especially not on important issues. Don't make it seem more shocking than it already is, you don't need to.
