    It's great for performance clothing and camping gear, but a waste for a shopping bag.  Use an organice fiber of some kind.  My favorite is hemp fabric; solid, durable, made from a plant that requires no artificial fertilizer or pesticide, as renewable a raw material and as biodegradable a product as you could want.  

    Industrial hemp is wonderful stuff.  And now it seems that Barney and Ron may make this an American renewable product at long last.
