    ...who is a constitutional scholar and who has presented himself as a man above partisanship.  He has the duty to do what is right, even if Congress won't.

    There was never any doubt in my mind that all of Bush's power grabs would be happily adopted by whatever Democrat (or obviously Republican) who took office--Hillary, Obama, or anyone else.  Expanding the power of the office was one of the prime objectives of Cheney when he came in, and he had said so.  In his mind, the office had been emasculated after Watergate.

    I am more and more unimpressed every week with Obama's choice of advisors.  The economic ones are of a feather with Bush's, and are repeating their mistakes; the legal ones, prime among them Holder, aren't going to go after any of the torturers or obstructors of justice.  The latter include Mukasey, who kept the Abramoff investigation shut down.  Remember how that was going to topple up to six U.S. Senators and a bunch of reps?

    Why, it just isn't done!
