With the older religions, people were taught to work with nature, with the earth, to worship the earth, sun, moon, etc.

I can't say the same for 'modern' religions like Christianity and Catholicism.

Or maybe it's just modern thinking from the revolutionary age.  I dunno.

is a different religion from Christianity?

News to me.  Seems to me it was the original Christian religion.

for it being different when considering how it is sometimes practiced.  One need look no farther than the opulent wealth of the Vatican and compare it to the poverty of Jesus.  Modern Catholicism's commonality with the original is in name only.
