  •  Sigh.... (0+ / 0-)

First, they went out of FISA.  Obama admin stopped them and put new safeguards in.

Second, provided they stay in FISA, it's no problem, but I agree, those individuals should be prosecuted.

    •  How Do You Know? (0+ / 0-)

How do you know Obama stopped the NSA from wiretapping outside of FISA? Bush claimed they never went outside of FISA, too. And Obama has done nothing about privacy invasion and state secrecy privileges except to jealously protect his powers to do it that he inherited. Especially on FISA, Obama has proven very accepting of FISA abuse. Until I see some prosecution of this abuse by Obama's DoJ, I won't have a reason to believe anything has actually changed.

      •  Uh did you read the article? (0+ / 0-)

The folks were working outside of FISA and the Obama admin stepped in and put a stop to it.

The problem with Executive secrecy and all these wiretap operations, with the Patriot Act and the rest still in affect, Obama protecting those powers, and lately the CIA arguing to ignore its war crimes with Obama's OK, is that we can't just trust them when they say they stopped.

Like I said, when I see Obama's DoJ prosecuting these crimes, I'll believe something has changed.
