    but take a look at two issues: The so-called "Renaissance 2010" plan, and the plan being implemented next year to turn Al Raby High School (formerly Flowers High School) into a school of agriculture.

    A school of agriculture. Read: Work done on a farm. In a blighted inner-city neighborhood which is 100% African-American.

    Think about that one for a moment.

      I'm just curious. There is a trend toward growing whole food via urban greenhouses. This diary mentions one in Milwaukee.

      Could it be possible that this is what the school of agriculture is doing?

        He really has tried to save Al Raby HS. It was, in fact, a environmental science school in concept, if not reality (the dozen pregnant freshmen every year, the gang shootings, and the remedial reading issues kept that dream from being realized). But no, this is going be f'ing tractors and crop rotation.
