The blowback this week is going to more intense and focused than Obama and Rahm counted on. We got to sign the petitions call Reps and Senators and the WH.

    •  If Obama wants it that way... (7+ / 0-)

... we can start aiming our anger at HIM too. Up till now, it's been the Bush/Cheney gang that we've been screaming about. But it's getting REAL close to time for us to start laying some of the blame at Obama's feet, too. Not for the crimes themselves, of course. But for a potential coverup?... DEFINITELY! And, unless I'm mistaken, "coverups" are usually considered an extension of the original crimes.

Is THAT what you're aiming for, Barack?

      •  After reading all of the torture diaries... (7+ / 0-)

I just feel sickened and numb, very numb. Anger over the decision not to prosecute hasn't set in yet. Just tremendous sadness, like I've returned from a wake, our nation's wake. I know it was naive, but I was trying to hold on to some hope that they would prosecute those up the chain of command, even if the CIA got a free pass.

I believe the term you are looking for to describe the role Obama is apparently set to take is accessory after the fact. That's what he will be if they follow through with their plan not to prosecute. God, what a mess.

All day yesterday I literally felt sick to my stomach, like I had a bit of the flu or something. And I didn't sleep at all well last night. And I agree... this almost feels like someone died.

I fully expected to have to work hard to defend Obama once he was in office. I knew he'd be slammed HARD from the Right, and figured we'd have to halp him out. I was especially thinking about when he got around to going after Bush's crimes. But what I did NOT expect was that we would have to fight AGAINST the man! This is just as wrong as can be!
