    They already accepted BILLIONS for road construction and such, but they are ready to secede from the Union over about $500 million in money for unemployment insurance.

    Perry and his gang insist that once these "entitlements" are set, it will be impossible to remove them. However, the money from the stimulus would fund this for NINE years.

    They are just out of their freaking minds.

    •  Perry removed unemployment taxes in '08 (0+ / 0-)

      On March 10, 2008, Perry's office releaseda news release (PDF)stating:

      "I believe in truth-in-budgeting: when government levies a tax and collects more money than is needed, we must either stop collecting the tax, return the money or both," said Gov. Perry. "Thanks to our healthy economy and low unemployment rate last year, the  state collected more money for the unemployment trust fund than we need, which is why I’m directing the state to bring that tax to a screeching halt for this year."
