    but I have to take issue with there being millions of Progressives in Texas. You see, I live in Houston and I don't know many progressives. Most people I know are Fox-watching, gun-loving, liberal conspiracy theorist Christians who vote Republican over and over again without considering how it really helps or hurts their lives. The ones who aren't the above are one issue Repugs who don't like taxes. And I am not talking about stupid ignorant people. These are college-educated people who have good jobs like attorneys, CPAs, etc. I know Austin is considerably more liberal and that is one of the reasons my husband and I are planning to move there as soon as we possibly can.

      I live in Houston and MOST of the people I know are progressive, or at least hold some progressive opinions. I know lawyers, Med Center doctors, and geologists. There are darn few who fit your description, and those are highly defensive about it - now, anyway. Ten years ago it was different ... Texas will always carry the stain of having put Bush and LBJ in office. Sigh.
