    you have to wade through unverified stuff all the time. Some people are frightened. Some things might actually be ahead of the news. There's no way for certain, but you have to be willing to file things under 'rumor' until you know more.

      It does to me, for four reasons.

      1. Quoter says he is a doctor.
      1. Yet he makes statements that any doc would know are false,
      1. ie that a vaccine would work for a new strain
      1. (and as someone points out on my diary, that a vaccine could be expected to confer immunity right away.

      Why does this matter?

      1. Because it is BBC, so many people expect it to be true and verified.


      1. Because it is the scariest quote in the whole piece, and the most prominently featured one.

      So if it is false, people should know it...

      Any docs out there to comment?  Dallasdoc or???
