    If this had already made its way around the world why have we not yet seen outbreaks elsewhere? Even in nearby countries with heavy traffic between them and Mexico. Two answers, either it has and it is too mild to be distinguishable from the seasonal flu...or more likely it simply hasn't spread.

    As already stated, it's not possible to distinguish swine flu from other types without PCR. As far as spread, the CDC has opined that it has already spread enough that attempts at geographical containment will be pointless.

    Some more info:

    A few takeaways: The death toll in Mexico is now 68. Persons are believed to be contagious for up to 7 days after onset of symptoms; children may be contagious longer. Currently, this virus is sensitive to Tamiflu.
