  •  I can't understand how we got here either, (10+ / 0-)

    emotionally or intellectually.

It is indefensible, on ANY grounds. Just watched last night's Rachel off the DVR. Someone was explaining Cheney's fear-based psychological makeup, and that all this craze for torture was triggered by 9/11. Some sort of overreaction.

Bad stuff has happened in my life. Really bad stuff. But my reaction was NEVER to respond to evil with MORE evil. To respond to crime by committing other crimes.

Two wrongs making a right? Come on...this is kindergarten-level ethics.

Horrifyingly unreal--that just about sums it up. More and more, this news junkie finds it impossible even to listen to the news. Right now, instead of MSNBC, the Sirius 70s channel is on the TV.

    I'm reaching my limit.

It has to be explained to me.

      Understand this completely:

Bad stuff has happened in my life. Really bad stuff. But my reaction was NEVER to respond to evil with MORE evil. To respond to crime by committing other crimes.

      And this:

Horrifyingly unreal--that just about sums it up. More and more, this news junkie finds it impossible even to listen to the news. Right now, instead of MSNBC, the Sirius 70s channel is on the TV.

Sending peace, grace, beauty and comfort your way.

Sending peace, grace and beauty back to you.

Even if the issues start to surpass my ability to comprehend, I find it comforting that like-minded souls exist here at dKos. We can at least commiserate and soothe each other as we work to unearth the evil, purge this stain from our collective conscience and begin the arduous process to restore our national honor.

sharing the small beauties that do surround us every day, are sorely needed to get us through this vale of tears.
