    but I think Neumann's opponent, Scott Walker, might just be perceived as too slick by half.

    Neumann has an excellent shot at the nomination.

      Walker also has a reputation for ineffectiveness. Only GOP koolaid drinkers and people who don't pay attention to Milwaukee County politics think he has any skills at governing. Combine slick with ineffective and you have a combination that won't work well.

      Also, to win the GOP nomination, you have to run against Milwaukee. Walker can't risk his chance at keeping his current job by running an "I hate Milwaukee" campaign. I suppose one could argue his tenure as Milwaukee County Executive demonstrate how much he hates Milwaukee, but he can't say it explicitly.

      Neumann has a good shot. He is smarter and more ruthless. Doyle can beat either one, but Neumann wold lay a glove on Doyle and maybe bloody him enough to squeak by.
