  •  Mexico vs. US virulence - a thing I've only heard (10+ / 0-)

mentioned once in media coverage:  We don't know how many cases there are in Mexico, so we don't know if the number of deaths represents 10% or 1% or .01% of the total number of people infected.  Since it has probably been present there longer, and because the people there may have less access to medical care, many cases may have gone unreported because the symptoms were mild enough or because the sick person couldn't get to a doctor.

So as tragic as the deaths are, it may be that it's not as virulent a strain as early reports make it seem.

They only call it Class War when we fight back.

    •  Age Difference: Elders Fare Better Than Youth (5+ / 0-)

which was also true in 1918, because (said media dox today) the immune response goes over the top in youth.

Mexico has a much younger population.

MAYBE that could be a factor. With so few deaths, somebody should already know the answer to that.
