  •  FYI (7+ / 0-)

My son was negative for flu. He stayed home today, the doctor wants him home for the next few days. Funny thing about children, they have minds of their own.

The doctor thinks it is sinus/bronchitis = more antibiotics. He/we know better than to tempt fate, but he wants to go to school. Since he isn't contagious, it's his choice. The child doesn't define himself as a sick person.

      •  After one lives with a sick (0+ / 0-)

kid for a loooong while, a parent hopes to be able to judge an emergency.

Truthfully, today was a now rare, panic visit (although I pretended not to know about the swine flu). The boy is sick, but not with the flu, RSV or any of the other godawful things kids get.

Your aggressive approach to this particular circumstance is appreciated, complacency can also lead to disaster. He probably has some sort of infection that needed treatment, he still had a fever at the doctor's office.
