  •  From Georgia, I completely agree with you. (0+ / 0-)

Hats off to the change in North Carolina and Virginia, but the core of Dicksy holds fast.   In fact, my impression is that the election of Obama has hardened the GOP control in Georgia, as well as in Alabama and Tennessee where I visit often.  The better numbers for Obama in Georgia were because of large turnout of black voters, more than any real inroads.

Does anyone have any advise on how to move to New York City?  This southern boy of 46 wants to spend the second half of his life calling a blue state home.   Before they secede down here.   The South, new or otherwise, is hopeless.

    •  I loved living in New York City (0+ / 0-)

but be prepared for sticker shock in housing.

Both in price, and in the space you'll have.

I have friends who've lived in a single room apartment for 40 years.

      •  I dont care about square footage. (0+ / 0-)

I consider Manhattan a giant cruise ship.  I never spent much time in my cabin.  Also, no car expense makes alot of things affordable.  I would live in a closet in NYC and be happy with every 75cent streetvendor hotdog ingested!!
