    Attacking him prematurely could seriously backfire.

    Attacking him at all could seriously backfire - his approval rating is almost as high (66%) with Democrats as it is (68%) with Republicans.

    Meek is probably aware that he stands no chance if Crist joins the race, so attacking him has no upside.

    They tortured people to get false confessions to fraudulently justify our invading Iraq.

      talking about stated positions or something.  Anything to show a bit of oomph and to show he's serious about the race.

      Meek is probably aware that he stands no chance if Crist joins the race, so attacking him has no upside.

      That only makes sense if he's going to bow out if Crist enters.  Otherwise, why run at all then?
