Meek and Wasserman Schultz were both members of the thirtysomethings who would give (great) speeches in the House on some weeknights criticizing Bush and his policy.  I think they originated the "rubberstamp".  Meek used to keep a framed picture of Treasury Sec. Snow and prop it up on the desk everytime he talked about him and when he announced an increase in the debt ceiling.  So it's possible that they are friendly, and perhaps subscribe to the same "pact".

Now that he's going for the Senate, he's going to need to rethink that approach, IMHO.  Now is the time to take advantage of the unpopularity of Republicans in general.

...but where is the action?  He hasn't ever gotten a bill through Congress.

The Senate is infinitely harder to work legislation through, if he can't do in the House, why should we promote him?

a good candidate either.  They are going to need a very strong candidate to go up against Crist.
