    that advising precautions is not unnecessary fearmongering.  Handwashing should be encouraged and not just during times when contagious diseases are spreading.

    I'm a retired nurse and there is an incubation period so we really don't know how many people have been exposed or will get sick.  Additionally, the beginning of a disease is the best time to try to diminish its spread (remember, Reagan did nothing when AIDS was discovered and look at the effect that had).

    Reasonable precautions are good.  Just spreading fear to ..... well ..... spread fear or have a scarey story to attract viewers to media .... not so much.  Media should do more to reassure people than they currently are.  Frantic coverage of school closings, etc. do nothing other than spread panic rather than providing real, factual  information.

    Those who yell do so because their arguments are so weak they can only be supported by massive amounts of hot air. Sue, West Allis, Wisconsin
