    ;-)

The point I was trying to make is: do you want the Democrats to become the modern Republican Party?

hint: the democrats ARE more or less repuglican lite.

Now that as Sirota correctly points out, the "democrats" have a majority in congress, what will be their excuse for not passing EFCA, single payer health care, etc?

way back before the election last Nov. I was writing about how "I couldn't wait" to see the feeble excuses here regarding the lack of progressive legislation.. due to corporate lackeys like Bayh, Baucus and the rest.

"it's time to put up or shut up for the democrats."

the lack of progressive legislation due to corporate lackeys like Bayh, Baucus and the rest.

There was a flurry of hiring Dem lobbyists by all the big corporate interests. Money before country...plus the lobbyists provide free talking points so you can pretend you are voting for the national interest by repeating them. "If we passed this legislation home interest rates would shoot up dramatically...we are wise and wonderful..."
Now that is a great excuse.

        he can't be this stupid..

        here's his excuse:

Evan Bayh (D-Ind.), who ultimately voted yes: "My concern about this is that in our appropriate zeal to help the four or five percent of Americans who might be faced with bankruptcy, we don't unduly raise the costs of homeownership on the 95 percent who never will."

RAISE the cost of home ownership? this guy can't be this dumb.. he doesn't realize adding to the already hundreds of thousands of foreclosures this year will drive down the value of real estate?

or is that the actual goal of Bayh and the other corporate lackeys? i.e. really drive down the value so their developer/speculator friends can swoop in and get tons of land real cheap?

        good plan!!
