    Other stories I heard and I think one of those books talks about it, but they either about strung up the guy that had pushed the cart of hay under the lamp or almost did.  he was trying to get out of town and locals caught him, blamed him for it.

    I'll see if I can remember anything else.  In the meantime back to grading end of year stuff.  too much to do before we leave friday at 10 out of bloomington airport.  Did I send itinerary info to you?

      There were actually two or three of the guys that parked the cart that started the fire who made themselves disappear.  A quotation I saw by a member of the commission making the report I quoted talks about not being able to get their testimony because they'd gone into hiding.  Dean and Francesco were two of them, I think.  I think there may have been another.  They had gotten death threats and after a close call or two like you mention decided to make themselves scarce.
