    about you being queer!

I'm a leftist who thinks that too much of the left fails to take race, gender, and sexuality into account in terms of complicating (and developing better responses to) economic injustice, militarism, the prison industrial complex, and other issues.  Of course there are limits to identity politics - but even greater limits to a class struggle vision that fails to center race, gender, and sexuality.

    •  I respectfully disagree. The politics of identity (0+ / 0-)

as defined and effected by its practitioners is subversive to a program of wider (I will say class, but it could also be communal, social, national or other) interest.

As with any analysis multiple factors and inputs must be considered to resolve the problem.  However, I think the extension of identity politics to the wider political economy hurts the larger progressive agenda which combines personal freedom with communal and social responsibilities.

      My 2 cents.

      No quarter. No surrender.
