    that gay marriage is coming on now as a backlash to the hysteria of the anti-gay folks of the last 8 years.  The religious right has done more to bring this issue to the forefront than the gay community ever has, and the worm has turned.

    I predict at least 25 states in 5 years will allow gay marriage, and that Oregon will reconfirm my marriage to my partner in 2005.

      we could be close to 25 states in 5 years. Of course, all that would depend on lots and lots of little activist and organizational efforts, but if we all keep at it - we'll eventually get there. We're on the right side of history here - while the conservative anti-gay people are not. So it's just a matter of time and also a matter of us keeping up with it. But we must keep working, and not become complacent for our neighbors who might not have the same rights...
