    But this time time he was himself dealt a hand which scared him half to death:  the prospect of him and his chums standing in the dock for a reckoning.

    That's what today was all about.  If he loses control of the Party apparatus, and if he loses control of the media message, there is the distinct possibility that he might find himself deported to Spain or the Hague.  

    It's a remote possibility, but you could tell from this morning's interview that he's taking it seriously.

    And he's scared.  He's very, very scared.

      Agreed!  Whether Colin Powell, or Cheney/Limbaugh, represent the future of the GOP, was I think less on Cheney's mind today than trying to save himself from Spain or the Hague.  He must figure that, if he's silent, there's a greater chance of finding himself on trial in Europe ....
