  •  terminally ill, yes, right to die with dignity (9+ / 0-)

i don't even consider that suicide because the body is already dying.

if not terminally ill, no. too many things can happen to change decisions made at the wrong time.

but i disagree with causing suicide statutes.

    •  In reality, (8+ / 0-)

a morphine pump at the end of a protracted illness is the same thing. But the person has to suffer a lot before.

But what do you mean? (I don't agree or disagree, I'm just not sure I understand.)

There are two kinds: (1) when a person intentionally causes another person by force, duress, or deception to commit suicide. (I have no problem with this one.)

        (2) another form is when a person advises, counsels or assists another person to take his/her own life. This is directed at preventing assisted death by doctors, family, friends, spiritual advisers. I don’t think this should be criminalized.

This is just an easier crime for state to prove for those who opposed assisted death. If evidence here, it should be regular murder charge, which is more difficult for prosecutor to sustain burden of proof.
