    ...with the "right to die" principle, I don't believe it should be mandatory for doctors to prescribe overdoses of medication. There are religious reasons why (not mine, the doctors'), and there are reasons related to whether a specialist who treats an illness is in the best position to judge when suicide is appropriate.

    My fear is the opposite:  that the hospital and my insurance provider would be biased toward killing me off quickly even though my death would not be certain, or that they would decide that any pain I find bearable is unbearable just to get me out of the ICU and into my grave.
