    You're right on target, as usual.

    I have some limited but specific experience with southern chicken farming, and everything you say is true. ALL have contracts (most, in the mid-south, with Tyson), the education level does tend to be low, and many of them, likely care of their education level, rather than an "evil nature", violate the regs that ARE there.

    Further, some County Extension Service types (or whatever their official title is) actually look the other way - seemingly, the farmers are who they're trying to protect, rather than the consumer and the environment.
