because, much as I would like to agree with your assessment of David Gregory's performance on today's MTP, your language is much to bitter for me.

Too much vitriolic language dims your message.  It also reminds me of just what started to creep me out about the republicans during the mid-1990's - the vicious, personal attacks disguised as political opinion (think Rush and O'Reilly).

Did Gregory use language which encourages the viewer to start from a particular assumption regarding President Obama's stance on abortion?  I'll agree with you, it did. Labeling the president as 'pro-abortion' promotes the idea that he is in favor of abortions.

But, like Howard Dean, I believe that the President's stance on abortion is legal, safe and rare.  At least that was his stance during the campaign season, because I heard him say exactly that.

However, that aside, I would hope that someone who is so obviously overtaken by a concern about a journalist, and that journalist's portrayal of a current president, would at least try and keep the personal vitriol to a minimum.  It nevers helps advance your perspective, and alienates others, like me, who can't wade through all of the hateful language to discern your point.

Gregory's (actually, the right-wing's) language  - "pro abortion" - implies that there is such a thing as a group of people in this country who LIKE abortions.

I know of no such group.  It is not reasonable to assume that ANY politician, including Dean and Obama, belong to such a group.  There is, however, a group that believes that each individual human being who can become pregnant has a right to choose whether to have an abortion without the state making the choice for her.

      There's a vast difference.

As for the diarist's language - I don't have any problem with the vitriol, because it is entirely justified.  The constant propaganda is infuriating.  Everything they say slants the issue.

has been getting away with too much. He has lied, misinformed, disinformed, mis-attributed and falsely colored. With the exception of Fox, he is one of the two or three most partisan hacks on TV. He is disgusting and sickening. He can go fuck himself! (excuse my anger)
