  •  Ummmm.... (18+ / 0-)

how can this be hypocrisy if the rules are clearly stated, and have been so for years?

Not agreeing or disagreeing with the Tocque's banning, but I do think the charge of "hypocrisy" in the tags is a little off base.

And part of the problem is that the rules are not clear.

Putting aside all the arguments about what the rules should and shouldn't be, it's unclear to a lot of us that TocqueDeVille violated any rules whatsoever.

The short version for those who haven't been playing along at home: the FAQ specifically says that Al Qaeda perpetrated 9/11 with planes, and diaries denying this or saying they were assisted by the U.S. or other Western governments will result in banning.

TocqueDeVille didn't say any of those things.

      •  What if someone says other guys were involved (0+ / 0-)

Not gals of course, but just guys, is that still against the rules?

        •  As long as they are not Western governments... (0+ / 0-)

...no, it isn't against the rules....as written.

          I wouldn't try it, though.

      •  DOUBLE banning, TocqueDeville and Inky99 (2+ / 0-)

TD for saying it happened due to negligence and We the People need to be savvy enough to question the perception-managed media matrix (my recall); Inky99 for writing a book notice (prior to review) of 9/11 commission official who says official 9/11 story is untrue.  K-Zap, they're gone in an orange mist.  Yet neither violated the rules as I knew them.

        •  The rules should at least be rewritten (0+ / 0-)

I don't see how it serves anyone's interest to have bannings taking place in a grey area.

If kos's attitude is that any questioning of the 9/11 Commission is grounds for banning (a ridiculous attitude, but its his prerogative), the FAQ ought to be amended to reflect that fact.

    •  Pretty soon the rules (0+ / 0-)

are going to read like the ones you get regarding your credit card.   You need to read the tiny print with a microscope (it would take hours even with normal print) and you'll need a lawyer to interpret what every sentence means.

Those who yell do so because their arguments are so weak they can only be supported by massive amounts of hot air. Sue, West Allis, Wisconsin
