    .
And why is he OCD about the Spanish Inquisition?  David mentions it as a metaphor and Pantload blathers away.  Gad.

We don't need no stinkin' metaphors!

We have the plain unvarnished truth.
That should be more than enough.

We've been poisoned by these fairytales ..

        .

There's someone who blogs on D Kos who's a lawyer.  There's lots of us here, actually, but I'm talking about one or two in particular.  They'll remain nameless.

Time after time after time I've seen people post diaries or comments that this lawyer blogger just lights into, sort of stalking-like.  Earlier this week there was a diary (no, not talking about me) that says, "Y'know we oughta tell Congress 'x'..." and in doing so makes a pretty good political point.

The lawyer blogger (who sounds like they're just a year or two out of law school, if that, i.e., all full of piss and vinegar and wanting to show off how they can google-up a statute or case or such) just goes off on the diarist about how the proposed legislation/action is unconstitutional and how the diarist is nothing but another "cheap populist", blah, blah, blah.

The diarist is not necessarily talking about changing a law, rather than making a political point about Congressional hypocrisy (although I say that for every law or Constitutional Amendment there're often as not many arguments surrounding it . . . duh!) and is not advocating violating the Constitution.  Again just about making a larger point.

But this lawyer blogger won't hear of it:  it's all about the unconstitutional nature of the modest legislative proposal made (Note:  "separate but equal" was Constitutional for over half a century!).

Anyway, here it's the same thing:  David's making a point about TORTURE and maybe was or was not technically correct about "the worst since the Spanish Inquisition".  And what does Pantload want to do?  Same thing as lawyer blogger:  ignore the larger point and argue ad nauseum about the side (non-) issue.

Funny how pantload-type bloggers do this even when they're not blogging.  It's just their nature.
