  •  And your point is? (0+ / 0-)

    Are you a McCainite?

First, your statement that McCain's plan would have been better all round is just flat out false on the numbers. Including but not limited to his silly 1.5% annual increase in the credit.

Second, his plan was not equitable, because it instituted a regressive taxation system. A $1500 tax credit when you're supporting a family of 4 on 30k is nearly useless. Read your tax tables. That tax credit would have mostly benefited people making over 100k.

So the current system isn't equitable, so what, that's not a reason to recycle debunked McCainite BS. Do something sensible instead, get behind single-payer or medicare-for-all.

    •  I like my employer provided health care (0+ / 0-)

I am very happy with my health insurance plan and the fact that it is paid for with pre-tax dollars. My point is that how we treat, for tax purposes, health insurance for those who have an employer provided plan and those who do not is unfair. McCain's plan may not have been the best, but he did have the courage to say that the current system was unfair to the people without employer provided health insurance. I am happy to stay with the current tax treatment, it works for me.
