    ...for bare GFCI plugs to put on the ends of some older devices which didn't have GFCI plugs built in (or in which the GFCI plug had failed--an old hairdryer, for instance), or for a home project, and was not able to find anyplace to purchase small quantities.

    All manufacturing of these devices seems to be targeted at appliance manufacturers who do large quantity purchases.

      ...that you can plug into an outlet and then plug a device into that.  But I just saw them mentioned as I was researching this diary and have never actually seen one in the wild.
