Looks like a troll to me!

Disagree with most of the diarist's points but that label is not warranted.

      •  And why is that? (1+ / 0-)

He provides no links to justify any of his statements.  He throws out personal opinion as if it were fact, and he's clearly unhappy that someone got further in their career than he did.

Calling someone a troll on this site is pretty mild... and failing to leave a tip jar is the usual MO for these people.  It's not really worth the outrage you're feeling.  Unless, of course, you support his points?

If you don't want me to call him a troll, then what would you recommend instead?

        •  Just don't like to see people piling on. (0+ / 0-)

It takes no courage at all to gratuitously presume bad faith towards this diarist with your insults. He appears earnest to me and I respect his courage for posting an unpopular opinion, even if I don't agree. I totally understand why he didn't post a tip jar -- people like you would probably HR it for no good reason.

          •  And I should add (0+ / 0-)

that this diarist's opinion is similar to what some respected progressives like frequent Olberman contributor Jonathan Turley have suggested (he thinks she isn't a good pick either). It's not an opinion that should ipso facto call into question the diarist's intentions, as you do with the troll label.

Again, I don't agree, but I think the diary can be responded to with some civility.

          •  Well, then we'll have to agree to disagree (0+ / 0-)

I believe I'm entitled to comment on this diary.  In fact, I did so up above, and I didn't see you complaining about my comments there.

You may find it rewarding to give respect to the "courage" shown by the diarist, but I would say that it would have been much more courageous to actually stick around and defend his arguments.  He did not do that, and that is not a sign of courage.

I don't HR people indiscriminately, as you allege.  If you checked any comment history, you would see that.  I also don't engage in flame wars on a regular basis, which you would know if you took the time to know anything about my history here.

As far as people having an opinion different from my own, that is honestly not an issue with me.  I enjoy an intelligent debate, and I don't see one here- either with the diarist or with you.  I don't know why you feel compelled to protect this diarist, but I'm certain that if he was able to write this unsubstantiated and one-sided anti-opinion piece, he is more than able to stand up for himself.

And if you truly believe that calling someone a troll is uncivil, you haven't been around DKos much.  Take a chill pill and relax.  It's not the end of the world.
