    very common with children who are put into "emergency" foster homes, and then moved and finally put with a family who will in a year adopt them ... even at the tender age of 1 - that bonding time has passed as they've passed from one family to another.

    and 2 or 3 moves is the lucky child.  very lucky unless there is a prebirth adoption planned.

      If no one is really present in a loving way for the child, if there's a lot of neglect, ignoring of the child, or leaving the child alone.

      Kids come into the foster care system with full-blown attachment disorder, sometimes, because of lack of loving care.

      Be good to each other. It matters.
