    I've been told that simply getting Row 1 on the ballot is worth a % point or two. I'm skeptical about that, though. If you're vote is important enough for you to show up at the polls, some thought is involved once you close the current (We still close the curtain in NY.)

    The point though, is that the balloot can be confusing, especially for those who only vote every 4 years for Pres.

      although I suppose there has been some research and there are probably mounds of data to support it.

      On the other hand, I suspect our current Mosquito Control director got elected because he was listed on the ballot with his nickname: Skeeter.

      Yes, I really think that.  Because I actually read the qualifications of the candidates up for this very important office (in these parts anyway) and Skeeter had none...
