    Here's  part of Blumenthal's response.

The people in my video were not white trash, nor were they the “extreme right-wing fringe” as some bloggers have called them. They were the college-educated sons and daughters of middle and upper class American Jews from cosmopolitan metropolises and genteel suburbs. Some had come to Israel on vacation, some had made aliyah, and some told me they were planning to move to Israel in the near future. Many were dual citizens of America and Israel. They may have behaved in a moronic way, but they will not grow up to toil in the custodial arts. Many of these kids will move into white-collar jobs and use their influence to advance Israeli initiatives. Programs like Birthright Israel  -- a few of those in my video were on Birthright tours -- exist for the exclusive purpose of indoctrinating American Jews into unyielding, unthinking supporters of Israel. Thus the kids in my video represent at least one aspect of the Zionist project’s future base of political sustenance.

According to the author's synopsis: We encountered rowdy groups of beer sodden twenty-somethings, many from the United States, and all eager to vent their visceral, even violent hatred of Barack Obama and his policies towards Israel.

An Israeli 20-something would better know who Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is before Barack Obama.

I just hope, now that it has gone viral, that the parents of these little assholes see this.    And that they take them to the woodshed they so richly deserve.  And the girl who said that about Netanyahu?  Her parents need to get their money back.   Poli-sci major indeed.

The real benefit of this video may lie there.   Others who only may think this kind of thing, will see just how ugly it is when it comes to the fore.

Well there was at least one with an accent. Just noting that I picked up on more than one US regional accents. I don't think we're quibbling here and are pretty much on the same page.

I meant one with a non-American accent of any region which I assumed to be Israeli.   It sounded that way to me.

Parental Education Fund Repo...heh.   I went back to college in my late 20's/early 30's.   I couldn't believe what boneheads a whole lot of the kids were.   Of course, mom and dad were paying for everything.   What did they care?    Oh the memories..the trees covered in toilet paper in the early morning light.   I went to a "greek" school.

    •  What is an "unyielding... supporter"? (2+ / 0-)

I'll be honest here: by the literal meaning of that phrase, I am an unyielding supporter of Israel. Not of the Israeli government, whether in the sense of the current office-holders or the governance of that state; but, yes, I am a Zionist, and I would be foolish to back down from it.

Unthinking is bad, do I even need to say that? Yeah, any government in the world is going to make bad decisions. And were I a citizen I would vote for those candidates whom I felt would advance the best long-term interests of Israelis, not the best short-term interests of the Israeli and American MIC. As for Biblical dreams... I am by and large not a subscriber to such things.

You know, there are three kinds of Zionists, as I see it: there's the religious Zionists, who do it for the glory of God; there's the nationalistic Zionists, who do it for power; and there's the secular, middle- and left-side-of-the-road Zionists who believe that just because most economically-developed countries are friendly toward Jews now doesn't mean that they can be relied upon to be. These days in the USA it's unfashionable to hate Jews, but fashions change.
