And I think he's a Deeds staffer or at least uber-volunteer.

Any of these three can win in November.  I am sick of Red Sox trolling his venom around here--he's full o' shit. I have covered this at length in previous comments, but each candidate brings different strengths and weaknesses.

They all could win, and they all could lose, as Laura Clawson correctly pointed out above.

That's not venom Doug, it's just an argument you don't like. And I'm not employed by Deeds or any other candidate.

Quoted for awesomeness. It's a shame that this is what you've reduced yourself to--I've enjoyed your commentary in multiple Virginia Democratic venues over the years, and look forward to reading/hearing more after this primary is over.

All three candidates could definitely lose in November, but there isn't a particularly realistic scenario right now where Brian wins. McAuliffe is in almost as dire a situation. I know you disagree, and I can respect that, but what I can't respect is the idea that I don't get to advocate on behalf of my preferred candidate in terms of electability, among other issues.

It's your unsubstantiated incessant false claims that Moran cannot win.

That's just not true.  Yes we disagree.  But your incessant repetition of an arguable that is potentially damaging to our nominee is not acceptable.

This is why I have never really gone into detail about why I really don't like Terry McAuliffe.  If he wins, he needs to be a credible candidate with a credible shot.

Why don't you try delineating your distinction on issues as well as your fave meme of electability?

Because that's all you've got!  It's wrong.  My opinion, and the truth.

        •  He can't win in November, that's the unfortunate (1+ / 0-)

truth. You don't have to accept it, but it's reality. He has run as an unrepentant liberal in the primary, and while that kills among our guys, it doesn't get you to a plurality in November--it would be just as if the GOP nominated Bob Marshall or Eric Cantor statewide. Just look at the most recent head-to-head numbers:

          49% McDonnell (R)
          38% Moran (D)
          13% Undecided

          47% McDonnell (R)
          43% Deeds (D)
          11% Undecided

Your candidate and his campaign have never shied away from saying why they think Terry and Creigh are bad choices, so you'll have to forgive me if I can't really respect that kind of argument from the Moran camp now. I fully support Brian's right to say why he thinks Creigh would be a bad choice, even if I don't agree with him, a right that Brian has not exactly shied away from once Creigh shot up in the polls.

Put another way, why is it OK for Brian and his folks to effectively call Creigh a gun nut, but it's not OK for me to call Brian unelectable? Why is it OK for Brian to have spent much of the primary campaign going negative on Terry, but I can't factor in the reality that Brian is unelectable?
