    A better argument is that civil rights aren't something we should vote up or down on.

    Yes, I agree.  Creigh Deeds has never allowed his own marriage to be put to a vote, but he sold out many Virginians with his homophobic double standard.  

    I was careful to say that he "supported" the amendment, not that he "voted for" it.  I believe that his actions were in support of the amendment -- he acted in a deliberate way that helped facilitate its passage.

    Would you join a whites-only country club? Then would you marry in the United States?
