    ... is your reading comprehension. Please see above where I state, in English, that I have had several talks with my oldest children about this.

    So, they're hardly "unchallenged". Should I just beat their asses over it? Are you a parent, i.e. even qualified to be having a discussion with me about how to raise kids?  

    I challenge your assertion that using the word "gay" in the way that's being discussed makes one homophobic. Just because you believe you are right, and apparently attach a lot of emotion to it, does not make it so.

    Think of all sentient beings as Buddha, but keep your hand on your wallet.

      The point that I think is so important is that even if people don't mean homosexual when they say "that's so gay" they are still making it more difficult for people who are gay. I really don't think that most of the people who do that are homophobic, but I do think they are ignorant of the suffering they are contributing to...

      I am a parent, a gay parent, and I have had multiple conversations with my kids and their friends about this. I expect to have more. I know it's not easy for the kids to understand what the big deal is, but I really think there is a big deal.
