    Who makes the decision that a protest point was not made?

    Grass is freaking expensive (I've been sodding recently -- never again!).  

    I think Bloomberg's response was reasonable and the protesters complied because they thought it was reasonable.

    It would be interesting to know for sure, but I think your call for civil disobedience in this situation was unreasonable.

      reasonable. He had police spies infiltrating non-violent groups - including "Billionaires for Bush," for God's sake.

      As for the grass, we do not live in a grass museum, we live in one of the world's great cities. I was at No Nukes in the early 80s, on the Great Lawn in Central Park, with hundreds of thousands of other people. It was marvelous, and the grass recovered.
