    ... obeying the exact letter of the law was nowhere to be found when it came time to prosecute torture - as Obama is required to do by domestic and international law.

    It's way past time for Obama's defenders to face facts. He conned all of us - but good.

      He did not get my vote in the primaries, even though by June it was all over but the shouting.  Obama very cleverly peeled away specific Hillary supporters (i.e., teh gay) by saying all the right things in soaring speeches.  All hat, no cattle as we used to say in TX...

      No politician ever lost an election by underestimating the intelligence of the American public. PT Barnum, paraphrased...

      I don't feel conned.  What I do feel is a strong sense of appreciation for a President who thinks before he speaks and acts.  That is the sign of true intelligence, IMHO!

      President Obama, while doing what he can to keep the promises that he made during the campaign, also has to be cognizant of his limitations.  I believe he has done more than anyone else in this brief period of time.

      While it is true that we have to hold his feet to the fire on the prosecution of torture, and severl other issues, I do not believe that he has conned any of us.

      But thanks for your thoughts!
