    It makes no sense to sell insurance for things that have already happened.
    Insurance should charge a small amount to cover a small chance of having to pay out a large amount. It makes no sense to charge someone a few hundred dollars a month, when you already know you'll have to pay out tens of thousands. There's no risk at that point. It's a certainty.

    That doesn't mean the insurance companies are right. It means insurance is a bad model for health care.

    The Empire never ended.
