    I will refrain from rating that as excellent.

    The rating system also falls short of being asset for me in the sense that it fosters heatherism.

    Even if not consciously intended as such, statements like "If you are a new user, give it time, and you will come to recognize most of the influential voices here.  If you are an old user, give it time, and you will recognize which new users have that special voice [yes, grasshopper...]" are condescending and elitist. Cliques, and mistrust of newcomers, will occur in any community. That's human nature. But skull-and-bones-like rites of passage such as admission into the sacred cult of the "trusted user," with "special powers" to award zeros and see "hidden comments" (oooohhh!!) are a bit juvenile in my opinion. I mean, what is this, an Anne Rice novel?

    That being said, I'm only human. I confess that i started throwing fours around as soon as I realized I had the power.
