    ...where you'd get some isolated fogs / smogs for short periods of time.  I lived in a place for a few years where I drove by several gypsum plants that made wall-board, which is high-moisture manufacturing process.  

    There were days you'd see as you approached the clouds of vapor coming out of the stacks and just cascading to the ground and rolling across the road.  When you hit them you couldn't see the hood of your car, and just hoped there was no one who'd crossed the centerline in the fog (and hoped you hadn't...).  

    But they were always gone in an hour or two.  I can't imagine being in something like that for four or five days, and a toxic one at that.
