  •  My diagnosis is still relatively new (7+ / 0-)

I've been pretty seriously sick for at least five years, but only got the diagnosis a few months ago.

We did a series on it here in May LymeDiseaseAwareness.  I've linked the diary I think may be most interesting, but there's a dozen of them, or nearly that (the last got a SCATHING diary on the Rec List for over a day calling me anti-science... long story, I'm certainly not by any means).

I'm no one to talk from my own experience because I have a pretty odd theory about how I likely got mine and you'll think I have a tinfoil hat (and that wasn't what got me called anti-science, btw).

But to answer your question, symptoms can show up a month to several months after infection.  Only just upwards of half of people who certifiably have Lyme ever get the rash which is connected with the tick bite.

We were very gratified to learn that after reading the diary linked above, a woman not far from you got tested when she recognized herself in my symptoms.  She's been living with this for 35 years.  Many, many, many people go undiagnosed for a really long time.  For me, it was five years, and I'm on the short side of that by far.

Torture: An act... specifically intended to inflict severe physical or mental pain or suffering upon another person within his custody or physical control.
