  •  Good diary, but I disagree. (8+ / 0-)

I see no reason to relegate DADT and DOMA to second-class status. Equality means equality. You would object to leaving trans people behind, but are willing to label GLBT married and military interests the "lungs" as opposed to the heart. You may not see the irony in that, but I do.

AFAIC, our agenda is (in no particular order):

    1. Employment
    1. Housing
    1. Public accomodation
    1. Immigration
    1. Hate crimes
    1. Military service
    1. Family (including adoption and marriage)
    1. Health including HIV/AIDS and women's health

And I would add to the so-called Dallas Principles an "or-else" clause, meaning we kick our community leaders and organizations in their collective butts and demand that they set a deadline--if we don't have full equality by X date, we unleash the biggest fucking civil disobedience in the history of humanity.

I realize you're probably being provocative because you enjoy that, but I'm not going to engage. That's my two cents (plus tipped and rec'd).

My bottom line from here on in is that we pass at least one of these bills in every congress. Anything less and we go scorched earth on the democratic party. I'm old, I'm tired, and I'm cranky.
