    I think that's been the point of much of Troutfishing's work on this site and others for such a long time.

    Glad s/he's shedding light on this.

    But I do wonder, after all I've read, if for some people the point isn't a modern crusade. That video from TBN above is scary enough evidence.

    I will also say that, on the day that "shock and awe" began back in 2003, I was in a hotel room while one of my kids was taking a nap - flipping channels, I happened to turn on the 700 club. Usually I would flip that off, but what was captivating were the images of Mesopotamia and the claims that God would give his chosen people the land from the river Nile to the river Euphrates. Clearly this was on the mind of many such believers even at that point.

    Maybe we are, truly, engaged in another great crusade, in the minds of many of the war's supporters.

      supporters think.  I also don't doubt that it's what that nitwit who started this war had in mind.  I don't think the current administration has any such goal.
