      great photos. Most are impressed with your 5K run/jog/walk. I was more envious of your 8 mile walk.
    I walk 2-3 times every week but for me a long walk is 4 miles. Normally, it is 1.5-2.5 miles each time.
      Just finished a 30 minute workout in my weight room. I feel energized from the pushups and work on the swiss ball.
      I was just reading some articles at a new site for me... It is  Lasting Weight Loss.com. I was especially looking at the article on ways to boost your metabolism to increase calories burned each day. Basic points were:

       Eat often... every 3-4 hours.

       Eat proteins in every meal/snack

       Omega 3's should be higher and Omega 6's lower

       Limit carbs to 40-75 grams per day. (I find this hard to achieve)

       What foods activate your metabolism and what foods slow/destroy your burn.

       I haven't read all the links yet but so far I thought it was a great site to visit.

      Actually, it's interesting that the protein thing I did without thinking about it.

      Here it is,

      Breakfast, nonfat cottage cheese or yogurt, fruit
      Lunch, salad, black bean/soy patty
      Dinner, black bean/soy patty

      I have more variety in my diet now, but the basic framework is more or less intact, for two of the meals.  The most important thing I would say is the proper breakfast.

          I usually eat 500-600 calories at breakfast but because it includes fat and protein from eggs and a meat, it stays with me longer and I need only a small 100-200 snack at 10:00-11:00 AM.
          I have questions for men about soy products. It is everywhere in foods and has become the king of food protected and supported by our US government behind sugar, corn, etc.
          For some men soy products are producing an excess of estrogen in the body that is causing problems with breast enlargement. Men's Health recently did an article on a few studies. There are some positives from soy but it needs to be consumed in moderate and a keen eye to changes if you are a man.
